Keep on doing what your doing!

This is by far away the best site for someone lost in dance music from a particular era (usually when we were young and vital!) The Time Capsules from 1977 set me off. How about finishing that year and giving us all of 1978? You know you want to!

Thanks for the great

Thanks for the great comments Warhead. Good to know you've been enjoying Greg's Time Capsules (we'll pass on your comments).

I'm not too sure if Greg will be continuing the Time Capsule series into 1978 as his workload (DJing and production) is now starting to increase rapidly. We'll just have to wait and see.

How did you hear about 6MS by the way?

David, I found you through

David,

I found you through milliondollardisco.com. I've been here ever since! The internet is a mighty tool for bringing like minded people together. If it didn't exist I'd be crying into my Purley All-Dayer tee shirt. (Bit too tight to wear these days!)

Sons of Robin Stone

Good show! I was very pleased to hear Sons Of Robin Stone, great Philly track.

Cheers Eddy. Good to hear

Cheers Eddy. Good to hear you enjoyed the show. The Sons Of Robin Stone track was the Tom Moulton Mix taken from a very old vinyl comp called Disco Trek (1975 I think).

I loved that Atlantic

I loved that Atlantic Conveyor tune. Thanks for that!

It was also good to hear Chicago's Streetplayer again. That wasn't a bad edit either. The original 12" is an amazing record in my opinion!

Cheers

Stu

Hi Stu, cheers for your

Hi Stu,

cheers for your comments - that Atlantic Conveyor track is very nice. A JJ choice cut, seconded by Andrew.

The Krivit edit is nice too, built nicely for the house crowd that likes their disco.

How did you hear about 6MS Stu?

I regularly talk with a mate

I regularly talk with a mate in America about football mostly but occasionally we exchange records that each other might like. He recommended this site as I love the disco/early 80's stuff and you lads certainly play some great tunes from that era.

As an aside I've noticed that the mixes on this site(except JJ's Smoking Sessions) are done at a 128kbps bitrate. Is there a reason for this as the mp3 format is quite versatile and you can go up to 320kbps or have a variable bitrate without an increase in file size. I play your mixes in the car a lot and sometimes the quality of playback isn't great due to the low bitrate.

Anyway keep up the good work,,

Stu

Cheers Stu,All the 6MS and

Cheers Stu,

All the 6MS and guest mixes are available at a higher bit rate as they were designed for people to download as 'keepsakes'. The radio shows however were never thought of as something people would keep (although we are flattered!!!) so are recorded live from PC when the show is broadcast at 128 kbps.

The other issue about bitrate is cost. The 6MS has a limited monthly bandwidth allowance and by restricting some files to 128kbps we are more likely to keep within our range. If the bandwidth is exceeded then the result is the site goes 'off-line' until the following month or we step up with some more cash for wider bandwidth.

Best regards

DC and all at 6MS
